REMINISCENCES OF THE DALY FAMILY

Kennedy Christmas Paul Daly . Kennedy was the ninth child of Daniel Daly and Mary Burgess. Daniel and Mary had 12 children.

He was born on 28 November in 1897 Maryborough and died on 31 May 1948 at Townsville.

He married Emily NAYLER 31st October 1918 in Gympie. She was born and died in the same town of Gympie - 1 May 1900 to 1930. Kennedy and Emily had 5 children.

He later married Edna Eileen MENGEL on 1 September 1934 in Brisbane. She was born 7th November 1914, and died in 1995. Kennedy and Edna had 3 children.

Government records show that he had several house moves with postal addresses:

1917 Gympie
1926-1929 Beck (Mary) St, Rosalie (a Brisbane suburb)
1929-1946 22 Langley Ave, Wilston (also a Brisbane suburb)
1946-1948 Seventh Ave, Townsville

He started his rail career on 7 May 1916 as a cleaner in Gympie. By 1 March 1925 he had risen to Fireman at Roma Street Station in Brisbane.

He continued to advance himself and on 4 September 1928 he passed Driver's Examination at Mayne Junction, in Brisbane.

At the end of the World War II on 31 August he was appointed as Driver 3rd Class to Townsville and by 1 June 1946 Kennedy was further promoted to Driver 2nd class, Townsville.
